Hey there! My name is Akeera M. Kelley (uh-KEY-ruh KEH-lee). I am twenty-seven years old, an entrepreneur, and a Licensed Massage Therapist in the State of Ohio. I started Key Relaxation with my heart centered on wellness through massage and creating generational wealth for myself and my family. My vision expanded to a Wellness Center of Youngstown, OH intent on providing several necessary services as a community hub within the city. Every decision I make for my business is made with that vision in mind.

It’s a pleasure to aid those who need relaxation, stress or pain relief, and a moment for themselves. Massage isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity!

I am continuously seeking to further my education so that I can, in turn, educate others on Bodywork and Wellness. We all have human bodies; why not learn how best to treat them?

Personal Life

Akeera M. Kelley is a loving wife, mother of four, and devoted scholar. Born and raised in Northeastern Ohio, she completed her primary schooling through Youngstown City Schools and graduated from Youngstown Early College (C/o 2014; Valedictorian) with 48 college-credit hours. She received a full-ride scholarship through a program called Young Scholars to attend The Ohio State University, where she continued her college studies for her freshman year.

Although intelligent and determined to be successful, Akeera wasn’t always sure of what direction she wanted her career to take. She considered the likes of forensics, nursing, paleontology, archeology, and law; all wonderful positions of service with captivating interests, but not for her.

In 2015, she signed up for the Massage Therapy Program at Heritage College in Columbus, OH. The program was fair and was a fantastic introduction into the massage world for a fresh, eighteen-year-old adult. Due to personal circumstances, she wasn’t able to finish this program. The passion for Massage Therapy started then!

Through homemaking, health events, personal loss, and other changes, Massage has been holding place in her heart. The holistic benefits, the statistical information, and everything of it, Akeera loved. Although skilled from previous training and knowledgeable on the subject, she had the last hurdle of completing certification and becoming licensed to truly begin her journey.

Fast forward to the year of 2020 when Akeera joined Raphael’s Beauty School Inc. as a massotherapy student! This program was fun and rigorous, practical and consistent. It was easy for her to build upon her prior knowledge with new education and in March of 2022, she graduated. Key Relaxation was built during school and became an LLC in March as well. April ‘22 brought her positive news with passing the mBLEX and approval of her license in Ohio.

Akeera considers Key Relaxation to be one of her baby businesses; something to nurture, to raise gently. A slow start is her plan to build clientele, relations, and obtain necessary skills. The first year of business was full of learning curves, meaningful connections, technological issues, and so much more.
